The scene, set at the home of Robb Stark (Tobias Menzies), features Bran and Arya sitting down with her sister Sansa (Sophie Turner), as well as Robb and his siblings Jon (Kit Harington), Sansa, Arya, and Rickon.

Sansa's first words to her sister are: 'I'm so sorry.'

In response, Bran responds: 'It's time.'

After some talk about the death of his father Rickon and how he was sent to the godswood, he then asks his sister: 'How do we get out of here?'

'You need to ask permission from your king,' Sansa replied.

'Permission?' he asks. 'He's your king as well.'

She goes on to explain that they have been ordered to 'protect the castle' and he replies 'They haven't told me that.'

As they speak further, Rickon reveals that he saw Ned Stark's body in the crypts below the castle, with a raven sitting on it.

He adds: 'I saw it. I'm the first person to see it.'

Elsewhere in the scene, Robb asks his wife Talisa's (Oona Chaplin) sister, Shireen (Kerry Ingram) 'How do we kill the Lannisters?'

'How can we do it if we're not there?' he asks her. 'We have to go south to their camp and assassinate them.'

To which she replies: 'That's too far away from home.'

After much talk, the Robb then explains he intends to lead an army of 30,000 men and has sent letters to 'every lord in his own lands'.

But Shireen insists this is a bad idea, with Robb having to say 'No one else can do it better.'

And it is at this point that he says: 'No one else can do it at all. It has to be me.'

The second and final series of Game of Thrones will air on HBO from April 27.

The first season was adapted from the novels by George R R Martin, a history graduate from St Andrews, and was written with the assistance of two co-writers, Jane Goldman and Vanessa Taylor.

It focuses on the 'War of the Five Kings' in the Iron Throne, as six main contenders for the crown, led by Robb Stark, fight for the throne.

The story arcs are based around characters from George RR Martin's series 'A Song of Ice and Fire'.

The story is set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. In this universe, many countries exist and are held together by alliances and geopolitics.

We follow a world where a succession of petty kingdoms have risen and fallen for hundreds of years. The most recent rise, beginning at the beginning of the story, was the War of the Usurper, a civil war between the Stark and Lannister houses.

"I am so excited about this final series, it's been a long road for all of us, but it was the best road to travel," the show's creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, said.
