Do cats eat ants

Do cats eat ants

Do cats eat ants? (And a dog, too)

Does my dog eat ants? And cat. I thought it was strange, but he is a big boy and I thought he would eat ants on occasion. Today was one of those times.

I went to a BBQ and he was under the table eating ants. I don't know why he did it and what he did after that but he must have gotten too far and went to the kitchen. I guess when I was making dinner I forgot about him and what he was eating.

When I returned from the bathroom he was trying to get out from under the couch so he could get to the kitchen, of course he had ants all over.

If I had to guess, I would say he thinks they are grasshoppers that have died (he's been around dead things).

When I went to put my kiddo down he wasn't there. I went down the stairs and saw him laying there. I started screaming and everyone in the house came out. We took him in the house and gave him a bath. He's fine now but we have a lot of ants in the house. I don't know why he would do this.

He is a big guy and I haven't seen any ants bigger than his head.

How did the ants get there and where did they come from? What else might a dog or cat eat besides ants?

Do you know what type of ants they are? My dog gets ants in his ears and that's the only thing I have ever seen him eat.

We had ants in our home and my mother put a mixture of vinegar and salt on them. We were able to get rid of them but I think it may be a bad idea to do this at home.

I have heard of the ants laying eggs in the ground and that the eggs hatch and the ants crawl up the pet food and then into your home.

My dog eats alot of random things. She eats ant bait at a restaurant. She gets them off of our deck and we have to pick them out of her fur. Sometimes if we leave food for her that she can eat off of, she will get ants on it. She eats the ants once they are off the food.

There is a variety of places they can come from. When I am outside there are always ants all over. Sometimes they will be in the house. I have one that lived with my kids for a while and he would eat the little ants off the floor.

An ant does not make a sound when they bite someone.

My dog doesn't get them as much as he used to, I think they are harder to get in the house now. My husband and I sprayed for ants and we didn't have to spray in the kitchen.

I was told to spray for ants. My mother does this too, but she uses this ant spray that has sugar in it. They think the ants think its sweet.

I've heard ant baits don't work, and a lot of the people that have problems with ants, have issues with wasps too.

I had a dog that would eat grasshoppers out of my yard. He was just one of those things. If you find you're having trouble with ants in your home, I would tell the exterminator to just come out to your home, and if he doesn't see any, just have them spray your kitchen and bathroom and the areas of entry. Good luck!

Thanks.
